Is your social media strategy a bit of a mess?
Here are a few (of the many!) things to consider to help get your digital ducks in a row:
🦆 Is your contact information readily available on all of your profiles and website? All of the pertinent contact info you're comfortable giving out should be easily accessible to potential clients. While your social media and websites should do their job in answering a client's questions, customers like to know they can reach out and talk to a real person either by phone or email. Having this contact info also makes your business look more reputable.
🦆 Are you responding to feedback? Comments left on your social media posts, or reviews left on search engines might seem scary to engage with, but you need to respond to both negative and positive feedback. Contact us and we will send you a free Social Media Response Plan Template.
🦆 Is your website user-friendly? Maybe it's time for a redesign? Ask three people you know to give you an honest evaluation of the user experience. If it isn't up to par, contact us and start the conversation. We can help.
🦆 Do you have a content calendar? Or, are you just posting sporadically with no real plan? Consider investing in a content calendar. This will ensure you're on the right track to posting the right content at the right time. Our content calendars have all the captions, hashtags, and images you need for posting and we even have posts set up for holidays, awareness days, and content specific to your industry.
🦆 Use a clear and engaging profile photo on your social media profiles. It's often the first thing people see when they visit your profile, so make your first impression count! Your profile photo should be an image people will recognize and associate with your brand. Make sure you use the correct size image to avoid it being pixelated or cropped awkwardly. Try to avoid just using your logo. Remember, people like to do business with a person, not a logo!
🦆 Make your cover photo count, too! This is like your billboard, and just as important as your profile photo. Make sure it isn't pixelated and/or any words are cut off or set behind your profile image. Showcase a product, show your workspace or add a video! (Have no idea how to create a standout cover photo? Contact us, we can help!)
🦆 Don't skip over your bio and 'About Me' sections. In fact, we recommend you fill out everything possible. You want to let your customers or potential clients know what your business is all about. Tell your story in a very authentic way. Tip: Don't think about sales when writing it, just think about who you are and what your business is about. And then, craft your message to tell that story. Don't forget to add links to your other social platforms and your website!
🦆 Do you have a plan to measure what you're doing on social media? sure what you are doing is effective? Keeping track of performance analytics on your social media can help you to understand how to use those platforms to your advantage.
🦆 First, define your goals. Are they sales goals or branding goals? Are you looking to attract more leads? Build a loyal community? Then, find the social media metric that aligns with your goals to determine your key performance indicators (KPIs). You can keep an eye on the rest of the metrics, but focus on the ones that match your goals. These are the numbers that should be evaluated when determining the effectiveness of your strategy.
🦆 Just because you can measure something on social media doesn’t mean you need to. Don't get caught up in vanity metrics such as likes and followers just because they make you feel successful. Remember, you can't deposit followers in the bank.
🦆 Listen to your audience and get a feel for the kind of content they want and need. People want to consume content that will make them more successful, wealthier, beautiful, etc. What are you doing for them? Craft your content to provide something of value. Sales should always come second on social media.
🦆 Determine when your audience is most active, so you'll know optimal times to post. Use the platform's analytics tool to check out when your audience is online!
These are just a few pieces of the digital marketing puzzle. If your ducks aren't in a row, reach out and start the conversation. We have products and services to help every business.
